“Birch Nest”
I found this lovely nest on the ground during a walk. It's beautifully woven from small roots and strips of plastic that likely came from a faux burlap bag or a tarp. This image speaks to the adaptability of nature and to the loss of farms. 100 years ago, might the nest have been constructed with horse's hair or wool? White birch bark is not only strikingly beautiful and perfect for tinder...it also has medicinal properties.
